Veneers are thin ceramic shells bonded to the visible surface of teeth to correct colour, shape and small imperfections. Done well, they are invisible: all you see is a beautiful, natural smile.
When they are indicated
- Marked discolouration that whitening cannot solve
- Irregular shapes: conical teeth, worn edges, asymmetries
- Small gaps (diastemas) closed with harmony
- Bruxism wear — after managing the cause with a night guard
When they are NOT the answer
Veneers don't replace orthodontics for significant misalignment, are not placed on untreated decay or inflamed gums, and are not a catalogue whim: they are a clinical act starting from diagnosis and design. In our practice the aesthetic project uses photos, intraoral scanning and — when useful — a reversible mock-up to preview the result before touching the teeth.
The journey at our practice
- Visit and design: smile analysis in the context of face, expectations and bite.
- Mock-up: a reversible preview.
- Minimal preparation and digital impression.
- Bonding and check-ups.
Dr. Massimo Ferrara has led the practice's aesthetic dentistry for over 30 years, with dedicated training in dental aesthetics and prosthetics: every case is designed individually, never in series.
