Orthodontic mini-screws (TADs, temporary anchorage devices) are tiny titanium screws that provide a fixed anchor point to move teeth precisely — movements that once demanded compromises or surgery.
What they are for
- Closing spaces without moving teeth that must stay put
- Intruding over-erupted teeth (for example before prosthetic work)
- Asymmetric corrections and complex cases
- Supporting aligner treatments in selected movements
How it works
Outpatient placement under local anaesthesia, a few minutes; the mini-screw works for the necessary phase and is then removed just as simply. Planning is based on the studied case: 3D scanning, targeted X-rays and — where needed — small-field CBCT.
